COVID-19

Due to the evolving and ongoing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2022 MHRN conference encourages all attendees to wear a mask when not eating or drinking and to respect the boundaries of all those attending.

MHRN will be providing rapid tests, and KN95 masks, to all attendees and encourages consistent testing practices.

Throughout the conference there will be regular encouragement of mask wearing, as well as posters throughout the conference space.

People who use drugs

New injection supplies, crack kits, and naloxone will be available at the conference.

Sobriety and abstinence is not a requirement of attendance.

People who smoke

No smoking is permitted in the conference area or the hotel. There are designated smoking areas outside of the hotel.   

Wheelchair users

The hotel is wheelchair accessible:
Please Note: While there are ramps to enter and move around the conference space, some of the ramps could be challenging for folks. A staff member would be happy to assist you if needed.

For lobby level access proceed to the upper parkade, the ramp is located on Garry Street (west side) just after the patio.

There is another entrance with street level access on the east side.

For attendees not staying at the Fort Garry we suggest being dropped off at Fort Garry Place entrance which is accessed from Garry Street in the lane immediately after the parkade. Note: there are two entrances very close to each other use the 2nd entrance on the right, then take the elevator to the 4th floor for the Grand Ballroom.

The washrooms in the conference area include accessible stalls.

Accessibility of hotel Rooms

Accessible hotel rooms are available through the Fort Garry itself, when booking a room please contact the hotel with your needs and they should be able to accommodate your requirements.

Deaf and hard of hearing people

Please indicate in your registration package if you require interpretation services.

All presenters will use microphones.

Any videos will include closed captioning.

LANGUAGES

The conference will be delivered in English.

Wellness Space

A quiet room will be provided for participants.

Trans and non-binary people

The gender neutral, accessible, washroom is located just as you enter the Grand Ballroom Foyer Washroom.

Fragrances

This is not a scent-free environment. Conference activities will include smudging.
