The Manitoba Harm Reduction Network (MHRN) is pleased to invite you to Brokenhead Ojibway Nation for the 2018 Manitoba Harm Reduction Conference.

The conference is a three day event that will feature speakers from throughout Manitoba, as they share on a variety of topics related to harm reduction and sexual health. With a strong focus on Indigenous knowledge, anti-oppression, and root causes of harms related to substance use, we aim to inspire conference participants to improve access in rural, remote, northern, and Indigenous communities in Manitoba.

Conference attendees will enhance their ability to:

  • Identify and connect with our provincial resources, knowledge keepers, and experts!

  • Develop partnerships and network with other service providers and community members working throughout Manitoba

  • Engage peer experts and centre peer voices in program development, delivery, and evaluation

  • Use an anti-oppressive lens in delivering services and working with underserved populations

  • Understand the link between colonization and lack of access to services

  • Engage in reducing systemic harms associated with policies and structures in our organizations

  • Develop and support harm reduction programming and strategies in the province
